Ethos, Aims & Vision

Our School

Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.

The school aims to serve Tasburgh and the surrounding area by providing education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.

The school’s aims and objectives have also been arrived at through consultation.

Aims

Each child is an individual and comes to school with a fund of language and experiences uniquely his or her own. We begin our work with children at whatever developmental stage they have reached and guide them carefully through the Early Learning Goals and the National Curriculum. We aim to encourage children:

To acquire knowledge and skills and the will to use them.
To develop in mind, body and spirit.
To appreciate beauty in art, music, literature and the sciences.
To acquire a moral sense, a set of values and attitudes.
To prepare for adult life, as consumers and citizens, at home, at work and at leisure and to begin to have an understanding of money and budgeting.
To have self-respect, to respect others and to be independent, self-motivated and socially co-operative adults.
